Myanmar Visa Information
There are 2 types of visas available for Myanmar:
- Tourist e-visa for Myanmar.
- Business e-visa for Myanmar.
Each of these has a different purpose, as mentioned below.
Tourist e-visa for Myanmar
The Tourist e-visa is a convenient online alternative to visiting an embassy for leisure travel. Usually processed within 3 business days, it is a single-entry visa valid for 90 days, allowing a maximum stay of 28 days. If you leave and wish to return, you must submit a new Tourist e-visa application for Myanmar.
Business e-visa for Myanmar
The Business e-visa is required for professional visits, including meetings and commercial activities. Applicants are requested to provide a letter of invitation from their associated Myanmar organisation. Valid for 90 days, this single-entry visa permits a stay of up to 70 days. Re-entry after departure requires a new Myanmar Business e-visa Application.
3 Categories of e-Visa Processing Time
- Normal processing: The e-visa for this visa takes 6 - 8 Working Days.
- Rush processing: The visa processing time is between 4 - 6 Working Days.
- Super Rush processing - If you have sudden plans to visit Myanmar and need a visa within 2 - 4 Working Days, apply for the super express e-visa.
Note: The visa for Myanmar will be issued from 9 am to 4:30 pm every Monday to Friday, except at lunchtime and on public holidays, according to Myanmar’s time zone, which is GMT + 6:30. If you apply after working hours, it will be accepted, processed, and completed the next day.
Steps To Get Your Visa Processed Easily
- Select Visa Type: Choose between Tourist or Business e-visa.
- Fill Application Form: Complete the electronic form with your personal details and travel history.
- Choose Processing: Select your preferred speed (Standard, Rush or Super Rush).
- Entry Details: Enter the required details, including your port of arrival and accommodation address.
- Upload Documents: Attach the required documents, including a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport's bio page.
- Payment: Pay the Myanmar eVisa fee securely using the available payment options.
- Approval: You will receive your e-visa approval via email. Download and print the copies.
- Arrival: Present your printed e-visa at the immigration counter for your entry stamp by the officers.
Important Reminders
- Non-Transferable: e-visas are tied to your specific passport and travel dates, and they cannot be edited or transferred once issued.
- Single Entry: If you leave Myanmar, you must apply for a fresh visa to return, even if your original 90-day visa hasn't expired.
- Accuracy is Key: Ensure all names and numbers match your passport exactly to avoid being denied boarding at the airport.
