The Myanmar electronic visa or e-visa is an official travel permit/authorization issued by the government of Myanmar to eligible nationalities. It is offered for only touristic and business activities, and nationals of around 100 countries are now entitled to apply for a Myanmar visa. This visa is applied for and received online. If you want to visit Myanmar for a brief period of no more than 30 days, you can apply for the electronic visa and obtain visa approval after authentication within five working days.
In March 2022, Myanmar resumed accepting the tourist e-visas after a hiatus of over two years when the country suspended new online visa applications due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The country's Ministry of Immigration and Population released the following statement when resuming online visas:
"Our online e-visa service will resume with effect from May 15, 2022, for tourist visa applications."
The country also resumed international commercial flight operations in March 2022, and on 17 April, it reopened the borders to foreign travelers. The country started accepting new tourist e-visa applications in May 2022.
It is worth noting that Myanmar launched its electronic visa application system in September 2014. Now, eligible nationals can apply for a tourist visa online without visiting an embassy or consulate.
Travelers wishing to visit the Southeast Asian country Myanmar for business or leisure should consider applying for an e-visa. This process is completed entirely online, and citizens of over 100 countries can apply for the visa. The visitors are allowed to stay in the country for 28 days. Please note that the Myanmar tourist e-visa is a single-entry travel authorization.
In order to apply for the visa, the candidate has to visit this Myanmar visa application form, fill out the visa application form, submit the required documents, and pay the visa processing fees. The last step is to process the Myanmar visa fees and upload the required documents in digital format.
After you have processed the payment and submitted the visa application, an email will be sent to your email address acknowledging that your payment has been successful and visa processing has commenced.
The visa processing can take 3 or 7 working days, depending on the type of visa- standard or urgent.
