Myanmar offers 2 types of eVisa options based on your travel purpose. Travellers can apply online for either tourism or business visits, with each visa type offering a defined period of stay and validity.

However, the availability of these eVisas depends on the traveller’s nationality. Some nationalities can apply for both visa types, while others may have access to only one.

Tourist eVisa

  • Purpose: Tourism, leisure and sightseeing
  • Entry Type: Single Entry

A scan of the applicant's passport bio page showing personal and passport details.

The latest coloured passport-sized photo of the applicant, taken within the past 3 months.

Return Ticket

A confirmed return or onward ticket showing departure from Myanmar. (Attach a trip plan if you will enter from the Kawthaung land border checkpoint.)

Hotel Booking

Proof of accommodation for your stay in Myanmar, including a hotel or guest house.

Can I apply for a Myanmar eVisa using travel documents instead of a passport?

No, only passports are accepted for eVisa applications. Applicants using travel documents will not be accepted and may be denied entry at immigration checkpoints.

Passport Bio Page

Applicant’s passport bio page scan with at least 6 months' validity from the date of arrival.

Applicant Photo

A passport-sized photo of the applicant taken within the last 3 months.

Invitation From Organiser

An invitation letter from a registered Myanmar company or Chamber of Commerce.

Inviting the Company’s Registration

Certificate of incorporation (for a local company) or branch registration (for a foreign company) confirming legal status.

Company Extract

A company extract issued by DICA within the last month.

Business e-Visa Requisition Letter of the Inviting Company 

Official letter from the Myanmar company confirming the purpose and details of your business visit.

Proof of Valid Annual Return

Document indicating the inviting company’s annual return is valid, where required by the authorities.

What happens if the company documents are outdated or unclear?

Outdated or unclear documents may lead to delays or rejection. All documents should be recent, valid, and clearly readable.

Can I use a Myanmar eVisa if I arrive in Myanmar by cruise?

No, eVisas are not valid for entry via seaports. Cruise travellers should arrange a pre-approved visa on arrival through their tour agent before departure.
